Volunteer Spotlight: James Zurick

On January 8th, the spirit of our SoFlo Academy of the Arts mission came to life for a group of elementary schoolers. We were thrilled to have our dedicated volunteer, James Zurick, bring musical joy to the school.

James brought more than just music to the classroom. He brought a hands-on experience that left every student smiling. After performing two pieces on his flute, James shared the story of his own musical journey, offering the children a personal glimpse into why the arts matter. To ensure this new inspiration lasted beyond that moment, he provided each student with their own small flute to take home. The visit ended on a sweet note as the group enjoyed muffins together.
